PROFILE

Our Advocacy Administrative Assistant will provide excellent administrative support to our professionals, law clerks, and legal administrative assistants. This position provides support to busy practices in commercial litigation, medical defence, and insurance litigation. The successful candidate will bring excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a genuine interest in advocacy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the scanning, copying, and transmission of documents;
  • File opening and file closing;
  • Filing and updating of electronic and physical files/binders as required;
  • Record and submit the professional’s expenses;
  • Assist in the billing process as required;
  • Support time entry where needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma or current enrolment from a recognized post-secondary institution is required;
  • Three years of relevant office experience with preference given for professional services experience in law;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, including the ability to take initiative with little instruction;
  • Ability to handle a heavy and varied workload;
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the practice and legal professionals;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent prioritization and organization skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion is required.
