DESCRIPTION

Program Manager owns expansion and coverage strategy execution for carriers while managing outbound network changes needed for speed,cost optimization. They own identifying and implementing network share improvement opportunities. The role requires cross-functional coordination across Network Design, Speed, Fulfillment Centre, Sort Centre Operations, Fulfillment Centre Aces, Sort Centre MidTermPlanning, AMZL Short term planning (STP), Mid Term Planning (MTP) and Toplogy teams to drive network optimization, launch new delivery channels, stations, Transfer points. The role requires strategic planning and execution of planning cycles from STP, Quarterly Cycles, Operating plan 1/Operating plan2 and 3 year plan.

Key job responsibilities
1. Network Planning & Execution
  • Plan and Execute outbound network changes including lanes, ship sorts, and launches of stations, XPTs, new delivery channels through cross functional partnership
  • Drive alignments for Critical pull time changes across network
  • Configure Torch and requests for network changes and Linehaul scheduling for new lanes / stations
  • Manage transit time pads and Critical pull time / Critical Entry time at station optimization for speed and thereby attainment improvement
  • Identify and implement network share improvement opportunities

2. Performance Management
  • Lead weekly carrier performance reviews
  • Execute Delivery Estimated Accuracy bridging (weekly during non High Velocity Events (HVE) and daily during HVE)
  • Deep dive network health using tools such as ATROPS, Attainment dashboards, Mercury, OBLT, FMC, TNT, Eagle Eye,
  • Track and resolve carrier mix variations against Forecast (STP, MTP, LTP)

3. Strategic Planning
  • Support mid to long-term planning cycles (QxG, OPx, 3YF)
  • Create expansion strategies for Urban, Rural, and Tier 3 markets
  • Drive HVE planning and execution
  • Lead Monthly business review/Quarterly business review/Strategic Sales and Operations Plan/Operating plan 1/2/3 year plan for your carrier
  • Identify best practices to automate, replicate from other marketplaces, build scalable tools with Shiptech and other tech teams

A day in the life
  • Monitor network performance and address operational issues
  • Execute network configuration changes
  • Coordinate with carriers on volume forecasts and performance
  • Analyze network data to identify expansion and optimization opportunities
  • Manage escalations including Executive escalations
  • Lead carrier sync meetings
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives

About the team
The team sits within GTS and collaborates across:
  • Internal partners: Planning, NWD, Middle Mile, Speed, DEA, Procurement, Finance, TESS, Shiptech, FC/SC Operations
  • External partners: 3P carriers
  • Focus areas: Network expansion, Network optimization, capacity planning, CX improvement, and cost reduction


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base salary for this position ranges from $69,700/year up to $116,400/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
