As a Project Manager on the Renovations team, you will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of major renovations and capital investment projects. Reporting to the Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for project coordination, budget tracking, procurement management, and ensuring construction standards are met. This role requires a balance of hands-on project execution, team collaboration, and process improvement.


Role Responsibilities


  • Coordinate RFIs, change orders, and submission processes, ensuring timely responses and documentation accuracy.
  • Track project procurement, vendor logistics, and FF&E deliveries, ensuring on-time and cost-effective installations.
  • Ensure clear communication protocols between contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal teams to drive project success.
  • Assist in construction closeout activities, including budget reconciliation, deficiency tracking, and handover documentation.
  • Manage project budgeting and forecasting, ensuring financial alignment with site-specific designs and overall business objectives.
  • Manage construction budgets up to a total contract sum of $3 million.
  • Oversee transactional vendor relations (scope development, bidding, PO’s, change orders, vendor deliverables, invoicing).
  • Interface at the location when needed with consultants, general contractors, trades, vendors, landlord, and municipal staff to execute projects on time and on budget.
  • Help develop construction schedules, identifying key milestones and potential constraints.
  • Ensure construction documents, contracts, and specifications align with company standards.
  • Attend site visits and construction meetings, providing updates and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Support site assessments by reviewing feasibility, geographical constraints, and high-level budgeting for potential locations.
  • Assist in conducting building surveys, site investigations, and due diligence to identify opportunities and constraints.
  • Gather and organize data to support cross-functional decision-making for new store development projects.


Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience in construction project management, hospitality, restaurant, or retail development.
  • A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, contracts, and budgeting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheets, Bluebeam, and Adobe Pro; experience with AutoCAD, Procore, or MS Project is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within North America (approximately 40% of the time) to oversee project sites.
