Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, a Regional Safety Administrator is responsible for coordinating and supporting all aspects of the company’s safety programs and documentation. The Regional Safety Administrator plays a key role in organizing training, maintaining compliance records, assisting with incident investigations, and ensuring safety information is accurate and accessible. This position provides a broad range of support in areas such as training coordination, safety documentation management, committee administration, and cross-divisional collaboration to promote and maintain a strong culture of Safety Excellence across the organization.

Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, a Regional Safety Administrator is responsible for coordinating and supporting all aspects of the company’s safety programs and documentation. The Regional Safety Administrator plays a key role in organizing training, maintaining compliance records, assisting with incident investigations, and ensuring safety information is accurate and accessible. This position provides a broad range of support in areas such as training coordination, safety documentation management, committee administration, and cross-divisional collaboration to promote and maintain a strong culture of Safety Excellence across the organization.
How You’ll Add Value
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, fostering a safe and productive work environment
- Coordinate and schedule annual safety training, testing, and awareness programs (e.g., first aid, hearing, snowplow awareness, drug and alcohol, etc.)
- Participate in all relevant safety training and maintain accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) for Volker Stevin Highways and Lakes District Maintenance employees
- Review and update safety documentation, including JHAs, audits, emergency response plans, manuals, incident statistics and trends, spreadsheets, and compliance records
- Prepare and support audits for Certificate of Recognition (COR) and other safety compliance requirements
- Assist with incident investigations, injury reporting, WCB/WorkSafe claims, and modified work case management
- Manage and maintain safety committee activities, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and record-keeping
- Oversee safety inventory including personal protective equipment (PPE) stock and safety forms
- Manage and update safety-related client portals (ComplyWorks)
- Assist with annual permits for trucks and maintain related compliance documentation
- Collaborate with safety coordinators and stakeholders to address safety inquiries and provide responsive support in a timely and professional manner
- Other tasks as required to support Safety Coordinators with Volker Stevin Highways and Lakes District Maintenance
- 2+ years of administrative experience in safety program coordination or a related field
- Familiarity with the construction industry is a strong asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.) is required
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Emergency Response Plans (ERP), Automatic Data Processing (ADP), and incident tracking systems is preferred
