You'll Do
- Performing timber reconnaissance
- Designing roads and cut blocks
- Administrating and supervising contracts (layout, cruising, and site assessments)
- Liaising with the Government and Indigenous Peoples
- Consulting stakeholders
- Incorporating social and cultural values into harvest area designs
- Preparing and submitting appraisals and cutting/road permit applications
- Developing Site Plans
- A degree or diploma in forestry, along with registration or eligibility for registration with Forest Professionals BC.
- Relevant experience in planning activities such as cruising, block layout, and site plan preparation is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
- A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and information management systems would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the appraisal system and timber cruising processes would be considered an asset.
- A current class 5 driver’s licence.
- Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $68,000 - $100,000, may vary depending on location, education, and relevant experience.
