Business Intelligence Analyst, Health & Safety:
Procom is searching for a Business Intelligence Analyst, Health & Safety for a 12 month contract. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Edmonton or Calgary office, Alberta office.
Business Intelligence Analyst, Health & Safety - Job Description:
The Business Intelligence Analyst, Health & Safety will support Health & Safety initiatives by gathering, analyzing, and reporting on health and safety data. This role will contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices, ensuring employee safety and well-being through data-driven insights and regulatory compliance support.
Business Intelligence Analyst, Health & Safety - Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities in health and safety performance.
- Develop regular reports and dashboards to track safety performance, trends, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Perform ad hoc analyses to support emerging business needs, critical investigations, or evolving initiatives.
- Continuously enhance existing reporting mechanisms, shifting from manual to automated and streamlined processes.
- Identify and address data quality issues, driving continuous improvements to reporting systems and data pipelines.
- Utilize project management techniques to define, prioritize, and engage in data-related projects that improve safety outcomes and operational efficiency.
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Business Intelligence, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data analytics or health and safety environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar applications.
- Experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modelling, DAX, and Power Query.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, joining, aggregating, and manipulating data from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the energy/utilities sector.
- Familiarity with Power BI Service, including managing workspaces and content governance.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety metrics, such as TRIF and LTIF.
- Understanding of data visualization best practices.
- Experience in report automation.
