About
Reporting to the AVP Portfolio Manager- ABL and Factoring, you will support the management of the Canadian portfolio, which includes ABL, EBR and Progressive Funding clients. Key responsibilities will center on credit risk assessment, financial compliance, internal reporting, and client relationship management. This role will collaborate closely with the ABL Portfolio Manager, credit analysts, credit underwriters, risk and operations leaders, and sales team to ensure minimal credit loss exposure, deliver superior customer service and promote client retention.

About
Reporting to the AVP Portfolio Manager- ABL and Factoring, you will support the management of the Canadian portfolio, which includes ABL, EBR and Progressive Funding clients. Key responsibilities will center on credit risk assessment, financial compliance, internal reporting, and client relationship management. This role will collaborate closely with the ABL Portfolio Manager, credit analysts, credit underwriters, risk and operations leaders, and sales team to ensure minimal credit loss exposure, deliver superior customer service and promote client retention.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the ABL, EBR, and Progressive Funding portfolio to minimize credit loss exposure and ensure compliance with credit reporting standards.
- Work with Portfolio Manager to structure and underwrite ongoing business opportunities in alignment with established credit policies.
- Conduct accurate analysis of client collateral reporting in accordance with approved credit terms.
- Collaborate with credit staff to mitigate administration risk while maintaining high levels of customer service and client retention.
- Assist in managing and optimizing client portfolios.
- Monitor system reports, including trend reports, collateral reports, and financial spreads and identify adverse trends and bring to the attention of Portfolio Manager.
- Conduct research on market trends and sectors.
- Prepare annual reviews on ABL and EBR clients as determined
- Address ongoing client requests, amendments, and reporting requirements.
- Proactively identify adverse client trends and take necessary steps toward positive resolution and minimize credit loss exposure.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be bilingual in French and English to serve clients and parteners all over Canada
- Strong understanding of ABL and related loan products, including the underwriting, structuring, and documentation requirements associated with senior secured lending.
- Extensive knowledge of credit evaluation, financial and cash flow analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with good attention to detail.
- Time Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities at once.
- Collaborative team member with a positive outlook, who understands their role’s impact on the company’s overall success and consistently follows through on commitments.
- Education and Experience:
- BA/ BS (finance /economics preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Formal credit training or 5+ years in loan portfolio management or as a Credit Analyst.
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial lending.
- Experience with ABL credits, and portfolio management.
