Aviva Canada Inc. has an exciting opportunity within our Commercial Lines team! We are seeking a dedicated Head of Financial Lines to play a key role in our expansion into the Management Liability space with a focus on mid-market, large and multinational risks.. This role will provide overarching responsibility to lead a combined ABI and GCS Financial Lines team.
In this role, your primary focus will be to leverage your Management Liability expertise, and your industry network relationships to further Aviva’s Management Liability initiative and grow a profitable Management Liability portfolio. With the support of technical underwriting resources, your focus will be to lead the build of a full Management Liability product suite and grow a profitable portfolio, team and brand. You will lead and participate in the continued product development of a full suite of Management Liability solutions, including Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime and Errors and Omissions on a primary and excess basis, for privately held and publicly traded companies. You will lead the Financial Lines team and represent Aviva at external meetings with brokers and clients and drive profitable growth.

What You'll Do
- Lead the Financial Lines strategy, including the continued build and development.
- Lead market engagement and participate in client meetings across Canada to understand risk profiles.
- Lead, maintain and develop broker intermediary relationships to create business flow in the Management Liability space.
- Work alongside our Commercial Lines Underwriting team members to cross-sell and support customer focused solutions.
- Build out and develop our Management Liability tools, solutions, appetite, and growth strategy, in collaboration with a variety of Aviva stakeholders.
- Keep informed on technical issues relevant to the role and work alongside the Central Technical Unit to enhance wording, guidelines, referrals, pricing, etc.
- Collaborate and engage with Aviva UK Financial Lines colleagues to stay abreast of UK market dynamics and leverage companywide Management Liability insights and learnings.
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business or Finance is required.
- A minimum of 10+ years of underwriting experience (including at a senior level) in Management Solutions with a focus on mid-market or large accounts is required.
- Leadership experience, including experience building and growing a mid-market and large or multinational Management Liability portfolio.
- A broad network of relationships with key Canadian brokerages and clients is required.
- Additional professional qualifications related to Insurance or Finance are strongly recommended.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
