One - on -One Support Worker
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time One-on-One Support Worker. In this role, you will work closely with a kindergarten student who requires emotional support, providing guidance and direction during playtime activities. Your primary responsibility will be to create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters positive interactions and helps the child develop essential social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with the children in various play activities, including games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play, while encouraging positive behavior and social interactions.
- Implement behavioral management strategies tailored to the individual needs of each child, promoting self-regulation and conflict resolution skills.
- Collaborate with other members of the support team, including parents, teachers, and therapists, to ensure consistency and continuity in the children's care and development.
- Document and communicate observations of the children's behavior and progress to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with behavioral challenges, is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility in responding to the unique needs and preferences of each child.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Responsible Adult Course certification considered an asset.
- Willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC). Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule:
- Monday- Friday Split Shfits (6:00AM - 9:00AM and 2:00PM - 6:00PM (May change depends on center needs)
