Your Key Responsibilities
- Supervise aquatic activities, ensuring the safety of all patrons.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of pool areas and equipment.
- Offer suggestions to improve operational practices for a better experience.
- Represent the City of Medicine Hat with professionalism and positivity.
- Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- Physical fitness meeting the standards outlined in the National Lifeguard Award.
- A team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Confidence to take initiative and lead by example in a team environment.
- Dependability and a proactive approach to your responsibilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule consisting of days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Possess a current:
- National Lifeguard Pool (NL – Pool) Award
- National Lifeguard Waterpark (NL – WP) Award
- National Lifeguard Waterfront (NL – WF) Award
- Standard First Aid (Level "C" CPR) Certificate, issued within the last twelve months at time of hiring.
- Starfish Aquatic Instructor (SAI) Certificate
- Equivalent combination of approved training and experience considered.
