Reporting into the AVP, Project Management Delivery, Enterprise Services. The Sr Mgr, Project Management Delivery is a project delivery professional responsible for driving the delivery of enterprise-level projects and programs forward as a member of the PM Enterprise Services team. This role is responsible for managing a team of Sr. Project Managers and Managers within PMD Enterprise Services, providing coaching and performance management. This role also provides leadership to the overall PMD Enterprise Services, ensuring PMD ES objectives are achieved and supporting mentorship and upskilling across the complement of project managers. This role will build critical partnerships with business partners to ensure that projects/programs are well supported and successfully executed upon. This role will enable a greater understanding of the project portfolio across the enterprise, and will define, evolve & execute on the project portfolio strategy (including strategic vision and the required tactics to enable transparency and accountability of project costs, benefits and risks).

How You Will Create Impact

  • Oversee the Delivery teams responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the deliverables under the Program, ensuring projects are aligned to established corporate methodologies and best practices.
  • Participate as a member of the Executive Governance process, which may consist of the Project/Program Sponsor, IT Executive, Finance Executive, and other key business stakeholders – support the PMs presenting program risks, issues, and mitigation plans to the Executive Governance Group for discussion and resolution.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities to project/program team members through collaboration with business units, overseeing their work progress.
  • Work with Project and Program Managers to develop current and future resource plans, anticipating needed project resources to ensure project delivery at an optimal pace.
  • Lead and mentor a group of Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Support the transition to the end user support team/business/process owners and ensure integrations with business operations, facilitating movement to “business as usual” state.
  • Conducting regular performance evaluations of project management resources and providing constructive feedback.
  • Drive projects and programs forward, ensuring consistency with Co-operators’ corporate strategy and core values, and meeting organizational objectives.
  • Complete analysis of project deliverables relating to resourcing availability and current initiatives to ensure optimal resource utilization. Align and contribute with the Business to meet their strategic goals through the execution of Project/Program Delivery by creating and executing on the Business delivery needs, resolving conflicting priorities, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and identifying and negotiating Program resources.

To Join Our Team

  • You have a minimum of six to nine years' experience working as a project management professional in a project management delivery environment.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • Having the Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Advanced understanding of strategic vision, objectives, and tactical goals for financial services and insurance operations.
  • Proven track record in managing complex business programs, implementing proven solutions and best practices.
  • Advanced communication skills and change management skills, including demonstrated ability to build and manage effective team dynamics for optimal program performance, and end user adoption of changes, including mutual benefit achievement.
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and standards. Advanced understanding of different project management frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, etc.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and cost control, and understanding of the dependence of business decisions on these factors.
