Compensation Range: $64,900-$90,000

Job Purpose

The Plant Quality Supervisor is a change agent, adhering and promoting EnerSys Core Values (EH&S, Engagement, Continuous Improvement, Customer Experience, Teamwork, Ethics and Accountability). Is responsible for leading and supervising the Plant Quality Assurance activities and processes, including working with multiple internal and external groups within Customers, Suppliers and Operations context. This Supervisor role will strongly engage in our EOS (EnerSys Operating System) framework, MDI (Managing for Daily Improvements), A3s and RIE’s (Rapid Improvement Events), tracking and acting on Plant KPIs. Lead external and internal auditing processes/activities to ensure adherence to Lean Manufacturing Modules and Quality standards including ISO, VDA, 7QBs, etc.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

include but not limited to the following:

  • Participate, cascade and adhere to Site and Quality G-Matrix plans.
  • Lead and support implementation of COGQ tools on NPIs and Series Production. Knowledge of APQP and PPAP tools is preferred.
  • Work directly with the Plant staff to ensure quality systems are in place that meet customer expectations, recommend and implement actions to improve Plant operations.
  • Ensure prompt responses to Customer complaints, Production and Supplier issues through problem solving tools and techniques (RCCM, 8D, CAPA, CARs, etc).
  • Strong participation and adherence to EOS (EnerSys Operating System).
  • Experience with ERP and PLM systems like Syteline, PIT, SAP, PTC Windchill, etc.
  • Provide reporting and participation on Staff and QA meetings and reviews.
  • Interface across Regional Quality Assurance areas (Customer, Supplier, System) to ensure process efficiencies with no duplication of effort.
  • Ensure proper staffing and skillset of Plant QA personnel by working with HR, Project Managers, Marketing, etc. to understand customer requirements and program needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and their requirements. Included here is the ability to learn and understand the requirements of alternate quality systems standards such as ISO 9001. TL9000 and ISO 14001 are preferred.
  • Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Mechanical and Electrical assembly and test techniques. Experience with Electronics and IPC standards is preferred.
  • Ability to understand EnerSys roles, responsibilities, departments including Sales, Service, Purchasing, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers.
  • Strong auditing, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Must be a problem solver, self-starter able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel including Management, customers, and auditors.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple, changing priorities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of the Plant Quality Assurance department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year degree in a Business or Technical program or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in a Quality Assurance environment. Management experience preferred.
  • Training in related techniques such as Six Sigma, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, etc. would be a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Travel to other Sites or Offices (around 15%).
