Rate of Pay: $35.446 - $44.305 per hour


The RAI Coordinator oversees the Continuing Care Reporting System (CCRS) RAI process within the Long Term Care home and works closely with the Clinical Managers and inter-professional team. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining processes to ensure complete and accurate capture of RAI data in compliance with Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) standards; provides training and mentoring to staff and generates reports for quality improvement purposes.

The RAI Coordinator:

  • Develops and maintains data quality processes to ensure complete and accurate capture of RAI assessment data, including periodic audits
  • Coordinates the completion of RAI Assessments, Resident Assessment Protocols (RAPS) and Plans of Care by the inter-professional team
  • Provides expert advice and mentoring to the clinical team members to maximize the use of the RAI tool as part of overall care planning and clinical documentation
  • Trains new staff on RAI assessment process and provides ongoing RAI education and support to existing staff
  • Participates in Resident Care Conferences, as required
  • Generates resident/unit level reports to inter-professional team for analysis of clinical effectiveness, resource utilization, trending and quality improvement purposes
  • Performs other related duties, as required

Professional requirements:

  • Regulated Health Professional with current registration with an Ontario College
  • Minimum three years recent clinical experience (long term care preferred)


Qualifications:

  • Experience in the use of CCRS RAI or similar tools would be an asset
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and e-mail
  • Demonstrated comfort working in a computerized environment with an interest in the use of technology in the documentation of resident care
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively
  • Self-directed, with an ability to work as part of a team
  • Well organized with excellent time management skills
  • Clear aptitude for detail-oriented work
  • Demonstrated attendance at work
