About The Job
Job Summary:
The Commercial Roofing Sales Specialist will lead efforts to quote and secure major GC projects.
This includes preparing competitive bids, interpreting construction plans, and managing client relationships to build and expand our portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, be skilled in reading blueprints, and understand flat roofing systems. This role demands a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational and communication skills who can handle all aspects of the bidding process with confidence and expertise.
Responsibilities
Estimating & Bidding Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for flat roofing projects, considering labor, materials, and subcontractor costs. Develop bids by analyzing project scopes, materials, labor requirements, and other costs to maximize success in winning high-value GC projects. Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to ensure complete understanding of the project scope.
Plan Reading & Analysis Read, analyze, and interpret construction plans and architectural drawings to assess project requirements.
Evaluate structural details, materials, and specific flat roofing needs to produce precise takeoffs and quantities.
Project Coordination Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and GCs to ensure alignment on project requirements and goals. Prepare proposals and submit bids to clients in a timely, professional manner. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required to gather project-specific information for accurate quoting. Maintain a network of reliable vendors and subcontractors to meet project requirements and deadlines. Maintain clear, consistent communication with GCs and clients throughout the bidding and project processes. Provide all necessary information to GCs, promptly respond to inquiries, and support decision-making by offering thorough, accurate project details.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial roofing sales, with a strong background in estimating and bidding. Proven experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans. Familiarity with flat roofing systems, materials, and construction methods.
Sales experience is required, as the candidate will be meeting potential clients, managing relationships, and growing the client base. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
