Reporting to the Chief Stakeholder Relations Officer, the Senior Manager, Research & Insights will be a builder, connector, and storyteller, responsible for transforming data into insight and insight into action. As the leader of a growing function, this role drives a culture of curiosity, clarity, and evidence-based decision-making across the organization. They lead the team that blends deep analytics work with strategic storytelling – translating member experiences, survey results, and performance data into clear, actionable insights that guide priorities. This role serves as a key partner to cross-functional teams, empowering staff at all levels to understand and use data, and helping the organization make smarter, faster, and more meaningful decisions in service of its mission.

In This Role You Will
Strategic Insight Generation & Storytelling
- Translate research and data into meaningful narratives, visualizations, and reports that inform strategy and decision-making across the organization.
- Support internal teams (e.g., member growth, cookies, program & impact) by crafting compelling, data-backed insights to guide actions and measure success.
- Partner with internal communications or strategic leads to refine messaging and tailor insights for specific audiences, including senior leadership and the Board.
- Oversee the development and execution of member and caregiver surveys, ensuring insights align with organizational priorities.
- Lead membership data modeling and forecasting, setting clear goals for predictive outputs and strategic use.
- Identify and lead process improvements related to data modeling, quality, and insight delivery.
- Deliver regular and ad hoc reporting to monitor progress and surface actionable trends.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses into performance, trends, and challenges to support continuous improvement and innovation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to departments by anticipating data needs, responding to performance questions, and providing strategic analytical support.
- Build relationships across departments to encourage data use, ensure alignment, and promote collaborative problem-solving.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their goals and translate those into measurable outcomes and data plans.
- Lead and mentor a team of researchers and analysts, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and growth-oriented culture.
- Support professional development of team members and ensure alignment of roles with broader organizational strategy.
- Build data literacy across the organization by championing insights, fostering curiosity, and enabling staff to engage with data confidently and effectively.
- Design and implement a framework to assess and advance the organization’s data maturity, enabling teams to measure progress, identify capability gaps, and strengthen their use of data to inform decisions and drive strategic outcomes.
- Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in relevant discipline (e.g., business, marketing, statistics, data science) or equivalent work experience.
- 5-7 years experience in a research, data analytics, or insights leadership role, ideally in a mission-driven or membership-based organization.
- Strong expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data modeling, forecasting, and visualization.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into clear, actional, and compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiences.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating across departments.
- Advanced knoweldge of analytics platforms and tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, R, Python, Excel).
- Experience managing and mentoring a team, with a commitment to building skills, fostering collaboration, and delivering high-impact work.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and navigating competing priorities to deliver insights that drive strategy and decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience translating technical findings for non-technical audiences.
- A track record of ownership and accountability, with a commitment to quality, integrity, and follow-through.
