- Conduct triage assessments during walk-in hours, including patient histories, vital signs, physical exams, and vision testing.
- Deliver direct nursing care using evidence-based practices (e.g., wound care, injections, IV therapy, respiratory support, specimen collection).
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and within your scope of practice; monitor and document therapeutic responses.
- Identify abnormal findings and escalate concerns to physicians or other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Prepare patients for medical procedures and assist physicians during minor surgical interventions.
- Provide patient education related to clinical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, and health promotion.
- Complete administrative tasks such as responding to patient inquiries, preparing and returning medical files, and documenting care.
- Maintain infection control protocols, clean clinical areas and equipment, and sterilize instruments.
- Monitor and manage medical supply inventory, including ordering and replenishment.
Recent Clinical Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the past 3 years providing direct nursing care and conducting patient assessments in a primary care or ambulatory care setting.
- Experience working with adult populations across a range of health conditions is preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
- Currently licensed and in good standing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or CPR Level C certification.
- Must be eligible for and able to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Enhanced Reliability).
