Finning Canada is looking for the BEST Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our customers and service shop in Whitehorse and surrounding area, on a 14x14 shift rotation, you will have the opportunity to troubleshoot, repair and maintain a variety of CAT equipment, receive dealer grade training and join an industry leading team.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
  • Ability to meet customer site access requirements
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset

Note:

  • This position is based on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation based out of Whitehorse, YK
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
