Contract type: Full time

The Utilities Standards Forum (USF) is a non-profit organization that supports 54 electricity distributors across Ontario. Since 2005, USF has fostered collaboration and knowledge-sharing by providing technical training, industry forums, and shared resources that promote safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Through training programs, events, networking opportunities, and practical tools, USF helps members develop consistent approaches, enhance operations, and address industry challenges. Working closely with professionals in engineering, IT, regulatory affairs, customer service, and management, USF supports continuous improvement across the sector. Powered by a vibrant network of volunteers, working groups, and advisory councils, USF plays a vital role in strengthening Ontario’s electricity distribution industry.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Business Operations will lead the day-to-day operations of USF, coordinating training programs, leading cross-functional discussions, managing projects, and delivering high-impact events. The Director will foster strong relationships with members, volunteers, and consultants to deliver practical tools and collaborative solutions that address evolving industry needs and strengthen the electricity distribution sector. This newly created role is central to enhancing member engagement, streamlining internal systems, and supporting strategic initiatives.

Working remotely, the ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader with 10+ years of experience in customer-focused roles. You bring strong project management skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Experience in event coordination, training delivery, and digital tools will position you for success in this impactful role. Operating within a lean team of two, you take initiative, excel at chairing meetings and guiding discussions, and approach problem-solving with curiosity, collaboration, and professionalism. You are a confident communicator – both written and verbal – you are equally comfortable engaging audiences in person and virtually. You take full ownership of responsibilities and deliver results with minimal direction. With a customer- and member-focused mindset, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring USF’s work is impactful, efficient, and aligned with member needs. An undergraduate degree is required.
