QA Team Lead

Paceline

Date: 1 day ago
City: Calgary, AB
Contract type: Full time

We’re looking for a forward-thinking and technically savvy QA Team Lead to redefine how quality is built into our products. You believe there’s a better way to manage quality than most product companies do today, and you’re eager to transform it by leveraging new technologies and ‘shifting left’ into the development process. Equal parts strategist and operator, you’ll shape and scale our quality strategy, embed best practices across the development lifecycle, and use automation to help our team move faster with confidence.

At Paceline, QA is a collaborative, supportive function—not a gatekeeper. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering to streamline processes, strengthen communication, and deliver seamless health and wellness applications trusted by our users.

Role Responsibilities

  • Drive impact by contributing to an app that blends health, fintech, and behavioral science to promote a healthier lifestyle.
  • Own and evolve our overall quality strategy, ensuring responsibility for the automation stack and UI test architecture.
  • Evangelize how to integrate quality assurance as a responsibility and not a role.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders—engaging in Agile ceremonies and processes to deliver high-quality products.
  • Design, execute, and maintain automated test cases, while troubleshooting and resolving issues across the stack.
  • Establish practices that scale with our team, acting as a thought leader on when and how to evolve them as we grow.
  • Connect to the latest trends in quality to influence the team on what we should be incorporating.
  • Move quickly and continuously improve yourself and your team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of QA experience delivering SaaS products.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (ideally familiar with the LeSS framework) with a focus on improving team efficiency and communication.
  • Experience implementing automated test cases and using test automation frameworks, particularly in TypeScript.
  • Experience with teams delivering both web and mobile applications.
  • Experience organizing and maintaining a Test Management System.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and integrating automated tests into a continuous deployment process.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to automate routine tasks and boost efficiency.
  • An interest in fitness, health, and wellness.

At this point, we hope you're feeling excited about the job description you’re reading. Even if you don't meet every single preferred qualification above, we still encourage you to apply.

We're eager to meet people that believe in our mission and can contribute to our team in a variety of ways - not just candidates who check all the boxes.
