This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult Abuse Registry Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

Position Summary
- Responsible for cooking menu items for all diets in quantities as specified on all production sheets; prepares menu items as specified for the cooking rotation currently assigned to;
- Must strictly follow all guidelines pertaining to Cook Chill production;
- Complies with Jewish dietary laws as determined by the Simkin Centre;
- Maintains ingredient and portion control as per standardized recipes;
- Supervises and replaces dietary staff in the absence of the Food Services Manager or designate;
- Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds utilizing appropriate lifting techniques.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Grade XII education
- English-as-a-Additional Language (EAL) Level 6 required. Must successfully complete a prescribed skills test
- Certificate from a recognized cooking school, or two years experience with excellent references working as a Cook / relief Cook in the Simkin Centre
- Valid Food Handler Certificate
- Minimum of two years relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
- Experience in a cook chill production environment
