Our work has a real-world impact, simplifying administration for schools and making things easier for parents and children. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to be a key player on our Finance team.

This is more than a traditional accounting role. You will be instrumental in scaling our financial operations, enhancing our control environment, and providing critical insights that drive business decisions. You will own key areas of the month-end close, mentor junior team members, and partner across the business to solve complex challenges. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a continuous improvement mindset, this is a unique opportunity to grow your career in a purpose-driven company.

Responsibilities (What You'll Do):

  • Own the Close: Drive key components of the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Proactively identify inefficiencies in our financial processes, and design and implement scalable solutions to enhance accuracy and reduce close times.
  • Serve as a Technical Expert: Act as a key resource for the business on accounting matters, providing guidance to junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex financial issues.
  • Support Strategic Initiatives: Participate in the annual audit, prepare and file monthly tax returns, and contribute to special projects, including system enhancements and M&A integration.
  • Master the General Ledger: Take ownership of complex account reconciliations, including deferred revenue, debt, and intercompany transactions, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial records.
  • Oversee Transactional Integrity: Manage the accounts payable function and act as a back-up for cash application, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with company policy.

Requirements and Skills (What You Bring):

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation (or in final stages of completion)
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience, ideally from a large public accounting firm
  • Deep understanding of the full accounting cycle, IFRS/ASPE, and internal controls
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a SaaS or FinTech environment
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite

We Offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Continuing Education
  • Great colleagues and collaboration
