We need a creative and collaborative communicator to help keep our colleagues and customers informed of our efforts. That’s why we are looking for a Specialist, Corporate Communication to join our team, supporting our Human Resources, Culture and Inclusion, Finance and Compliance functions.

Specialist, Corporate Communication - Brampton, ON
We need a creative and collaborative communicator to help keep our colleagues and customers informed of our efforts. That’s why we are looking for a Specialist, Corporate Communication to join our team, supporting our Human Resources, Culture and Inclusion, Finance and Compliance functions.
What You'll Do:
- Provide both internal and external communication (written, event production, planning) support to the Human Resources, Finance and Compliance teams, as well as the 4 Inclusion Pillars (Employee Resource Groups)
- Support the delivery of proactive communication plans that amplify the business unit’s strategy, spanning traditional and non-traditional channels, and keeping the team feeling connected, informed and engaged.
- Deliver solid communication plans against a variety of HR-related initiatives, including culture and values, strategic organizational changes, and business management efforts (engagement, performance development, pension, benefits, etc.)
- Generate a variety of corporate communication tactics for any number of uses, including departmental town halls, annual conferences, video segments, newsletters, intranet articles, company announcements, and more.
- Support the four enterprise Culture and Inclusion employee resource groups with communication plans and event production for various celebrations throughout the year such as Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Pride & National Indigenous History Month, etc
- Work closely with senior leaders and act as a trusted advisor / subject matter expert on communication-related matters.
- Identify storytelling opportunities from across the business and draft narratives to enhance brand reputation from the inside out
- Act as a guardian of our brand standards. This includes managing our tone of voice based on the message at play.
- Work closely with fellow communications team members to share ideas, best practices and bring those ideas to the client groups, connecting them to other areas of the organization
- 2-5 years of related experience, doing most if not all of the things noted above.
- University degree, preferably with a specialization in English, Communication, Public Relations or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a belief in plain language, and an ability to write in various style and formats.
- Solid understanding of internal and external communications principles and best practices. Experience with event management, liaising with production/creative teams
- Proven ability to support and counsel others; strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to adhere to different personalities, not afraid to speak up and counsel leaders at all levels of the organization
- Advanced knowledge of, and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Word
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change and meet timelines (without sacrificing quality!).
- A positive attitude, a desire to learn, a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get work done either independently or as part of a team.
- Assets: social media experience, bilingualism, and a sense of humor.
