Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for supporting and executing online merchandising and promotional initiatives, coordinating, and reviewing content for campaigns. In addition, this position supports website enhancements and works cross-functionally daily across digital, merchandising, marketing teams. This role also works to identify any process & system issues that arise, that affect the online customer experience – identifying and communicating improvement opportunities and future enhancements.

Some of what you will do:
Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for supporting and executing online merchandising and promotional initiatives, coordinating, and reviewing content for campaigns. In addition, this position supports website enhancements and works cross-functionally daily across digital, merchandising, marketing teams. This role also works to identify any process & system issues that arise, that affect the online customer experience – identifying and communicating improvement opportunities and future enhancements.
Specifically, You Will
- Ensure process adherence across Merchandising / Marketing teams to collect and execute promotions for all online product offers including but not exclusive to SKU level messaging, coupon setup and SKU flag maintenance
- Supports Staples.ca merchandising and marketing promotional activity by building up and maintaining Promotional Banners, Product Collections, and Landing Pages – working with key parties to provide direction and determine the best approach based on defined business objectives.
- Timely execution of website Banners for impacted pages - product category pages, homepage, and Deals Centre
- Consults on product taxonomy – working with SEO, search, analytics, content and merchandising to ensure consistent execution and optimal customer experience
- Supports merchandising strategy and maximize sales potential by utilizing website merchandising tools to drive SKU attach – including but not exclusive to; Cross Sells, Upsells, Substitutes, Extended Warranties
- Effectively maintains strong cross-functional relationships with merchandising, content, marketing, SEO, Search/Analytics, site operations, IT support, creative and publishing teams to ensure smooth implementation and maintenance of merchandising initiatives
- Strong understanding of eCommerce software and platforms
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as Contentful
- Analytic skills using Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Looker
- Working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with databases/ cloud systems; Strong computer skills and an ability to learn new software / processes is critical
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, problem solving and managing to deliverable dates
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- 1-2 years of website operations management.
- Communications/Business Marketing management degree preferred.
