About The Role

The MBK Operator plays a vital role in manufacturing by producing welded wire reinforcement, a key component in the production of pre-cast concrete products. This position involves machine setup, operation, light maintenance, quality control, and coordination with production teams to ensure continuous supply and compliance with safety and quality standards. The operator must be flexible with shifts and capable of maintaining high productivity, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Ensure consistent and timely production of welded wire reinforcement to support daily and upcoming pre-cast concrete manufacturing needs, including pipes, manholes, catch basins, and other concrete structures.
  • Maximize the efficiency of the MBK machine by operating at proper cycle times, minimizing downtime, and maintaining continuous reinforcement supply across all production areas.
  • Deliver high-quality reinforcement cages that meet all dimensional, structural, and regulatory requirements under the Q-Cast and CWB welding quality programs.
  • Work closely with the Senior Production Coordinators and Wire Reinforcement Production Coordinator to align wire output with the production schedule and prioritize tasks based on daily and future demands.
  • Perform light mechanical maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues within your capabilities to avoid delays, escalating more complex repairs as needed.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, reducing material waste, and supporting productivity-enhancing initiatives.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of production outputs and measurements, supporting traceability and quality assurance efforts.
  • Keep the MBK work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Collaborate with and support fellow team members to ensure daily production targets are achieved, stepping in where needed to maintain workflow.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Grade Twelve Diploma or GED

Required Work Experience: Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment

Required Training/Certifications: WHMIS Training. Forklift Operators Certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Familiarity with welding machines and the ability to operate power tools
  • Strong computer skills
  • Capable diagnostic abilities
  • Strong resource and time planning abilities
  • Time management, multi-tasking, and ability to meet deadlines
  • The ability to fulfill all job duties and the physical demands required
  • Training team members on machine setup, safe operation, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of wire specifications, spacing, diameters, and structural requirements.
  • Proficient in blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
