ISL’s Transportation Team proudly tackles some of the most interesting projects in Western Canada. What you can expect in working with us is:

  • Interesting Work – from complex urban design projects in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region, to major highway projects around Alberta, we deliver on a diverse array of transportation work, for example: Yellowhead Trail Freeway Conversion - St. Albert Trail to 97 Street (City of Edmonton); Dunluce Neighbourhood Renewal (City of Edmonton); and Highway 40X Connector SW Bypass (Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors).

A Little About You  


Your cover letter, if you wish to include, should show us: 

  • Your interest in working for ISL’s Edmonton office. 
  • Any previous education / work experience you have within the transportation, municipal and/or bridge field. 
  • Any previous involvement in the community, volunteering experiences and hobbies. 


Your resume should show us: 

  • Diploma in Engineering Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or similar education. Soon to be graduates are also encouraged to apply. 
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation engineering or a related field. 
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft applications. 
  • A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license, or equivalent. 


Bonus points for any: 

  • Transportation, municipal and/or bridge engineering design experience. 
  • Proposal writing experience. 
  • Topographic and survey layout experience. 
  • Construction inspection experience. 

 


A Little More About the Role 


In this role, you will be involved in a variety of urban and rural transportation projects from inception to delivery, which means that some travel within southern Alberta may be required. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to follow instructions and would be responsible for:  

  • Collaborating on transportation projects locally and across ISL disciplines and offices. 
  • Assisting in the preparation of geometric design, plan production, and 3D modeling for transportation projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software. 
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals, reports, studies, and evaluations. 
  • Assisting with the preparation of contract documents and specifications, and administering the tender process. 
  • Interacting effectively and professionally with co-workers, client representatives, contractors, project stakeholders, and industry peers, and providing excellent service and timely responses. 
  • Other tasks assigned based on individual project requirements.
