About The Role

Amrize is looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic for a permanent position located in Edmonton, AB. Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for equipment used in all areas of the shop and field. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Preventative maintenance service
  • General equipment and vehicle repairs
  • Maintain paper and electronic records
  • Diagnose and repair equipment and vehicle deficiencies
  • Maintain fleet and shop equipment
  • Production environment troubleshooting and repairs
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

What We’re Looking For

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Work Experience: Knowledge and experience with hydraulics. Knowledge and experience with electrical systems and schematics.

Required Training/Certifications: Valid class 5 driver’s license

Additional Requirements

  • Able to work starting from 7:00 am Monday-Fridays, and Saturdays when necessary
  • Prefer experience with Caterpillar loaders, excavators, and rock trucks, and hydraulic drill repairs.
  • General safety in and around equipment and operating plant/Shop.
  • Reporting unsafe job sites and procedures
  • Maintain a positive image to the customers and the general public
  • Ability to plan work and self-direct
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
