Job Summary

The QA/QC Manager plans, directs and coordinates all on-site QC functions and activities to ensure compliance with applicable company, owner, and government regulations and requirements. Establishes and conducts internal/external audits to ensure quality control requirements are met. Decides acceptance or rejection of all work in process and completed work activities.

Essential Functions

  • Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Oversee, inspect and maintain quality of work in the shop and some fieldwork, through a comprehensive quality control program.
  • Perform shop floor inspections; make periodic field site inspections, when required.
  • Oversee and manage the work of QC Inspectors.
  • Train shop craftspeople in the application of welding processes.
  • Communicate with our client and Regions to verify satisfaction with our work.
  • Manage all ASME code jobs for the shop and field.
  • Perform non-destructive examinations (NDE’s), when required.
  • Perform outside vendor inspections and audits, when required.
  • Resolve fabrication problems on drawings with the Engineering Department.
  • Manage all code and internal audits; keep all codes and standards books current.
  • Responsible and accountable to promote, maintain and ensure safety and a safe work environment for quality assurance personnel.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years related experience in QA/QC supervision.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a leadership or management role preferred.
  • Experience with aboveground storage tanks is required.
  • API 650 Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector certified preferred.
  • CWB Level 2 Certified Welding Inspector required.
  • Previous experience in radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, and liquid penetrant testing desirable.
  • Must have extensive field welding knowledge, in the following weld processes (SAW, SMAW, and FCAW).
  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, codes and standards.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
