Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain, provides insights into new projects, contracts, and financial results. This key role requires experience in building relationships with clients to ensure proper accounting for business initiatives. Responsibilities include analyzing data output, investigating discrepancies, ensuring accurate reporting, and adhering to accounting standards and policies. Your technical expertise, analytical skills, team coaching and effective communication, collaboration and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines are critical for success.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for new supply chain business initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting policy decisions are made.
  • Update and improve reporting processes while overseeing and supporting the team execution.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to other team members.
  • Monitor and update key financial models across all entities.
  • Review and/or prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process.
  • Develop expertise in the Dealer contract as required to ensure financial compliance.
  • Make capital vs OPEX decisions.
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all monthly and quarterly deliverables.
  • Analyze significant variances, key metrics, and business trends, present findings to management.
  • Research and lead discussions on evolving business and accounting issues.
  • Identify and execute improvements and efficiencies to complex models and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Monitor and execute all key controls.
  • Effectively manage communications and relationships with business partners, accounting, FP&A, tax, and auditors.
  • Participate in or lead a variety of ad hoc projects as assigned by the Manager.

What You Bring

  • University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a medium/large company accounting department or accounting firm with proven ability to successfully lead other team members.
  • Ability to provide accounting guidance on leases under IFRS 16 and on capitalization of assets under IFRS.
  • IFRS expertise and experience with researching and developing accounting position documents is an asset.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment.
  • Natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of the chart of accounts and internal controls is an asset.
  • Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.
