As Executive Director, you:

Drive IT Operational Excellence: As a transformative leader, you will be pivotal in continuously enhancing the daily operations of the IT function. Your operational objectives will include reducing infrastructure costs, optimizing vendor performance and relationships (ITVM), and ensuring world-class cybersecurity implementation, airport operational performance, resiliency, and high levels of end-user satisfaction.

Design and Implement our Next-Gen Digital Infrastructure: Lead the charge in designing, developing, and futureproofing GTAA's next-generation digital platforms and IT computing infrastructure as part of Toronto Pearson Long-Term Investments in Facilities and Terminals (LIFT). You will execute a unified enterprise architecture strategy that supports efficient, agile, and effective delivery of business products.

Operate a High-Performance Shared Services Function: You will be instrumental in designing and staffing a suite of shared services that enables IT to transition to agile project and vendor management, infuse seamless and sustainable change management, and upskill our workforce through an advanced technical training program.

Lead the Design and Execution of a Forward-Thinking Managed Services Model: Spearhead the execution of a managed services model that transforms IT operations, accelerates innovation, strengthens strategic vendor alliances, and delivers scalable, automation-driven orchestration and technological underpinnings.

Inspire People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that thrives on excellence and creativity.

Forge Strong Stakeholder Relationships & Collaboration: Build, align and curate a robust digital ecosystem of internal and external stakeholders, including business units, airlines, technology partners, and regulatory agencies, to accelerate collaboration and digital co-creation.

Pioneer Innovation: Drive innovation across the digital stack by exploring emerging technologies and identifying new opportunities to enhance passenger experience, improve airport operations and drive commercial growth.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an individual with expert knowledge in IT operations, enterprise composable platform design and deployment, and automation-enabled asset life cycle management. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working with third-party managed services, demonstrating the ability to direct and enhance business impact beyond standard service level agreements.

The candidate should possess extensive experience in overseeing enterprise architectural design for complex engineered systems that involve significant external interfaces. They should bring a strong innovative mindset and a future vision for transformation, supported by a proven track record of designing and implementing innovative technology stacks within complex, multi-layered operating environments.

Additionally, the candidate should be a demonstrated leader who excels in building healthy work environments. They should have a history of coaching and mentoring their team to drive high performance and achieve outstanding results.

This is the role for you, if you have:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Master’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
  • ITIL-certified or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise technology operations, multi-cloud platform management, with at least five years in a director role overseeing cross-functional technology teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering complex, multi-year technology programs with internal and third-party delivery partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex, multi-tiered managed service providers
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture with specialization in advanced networks, integration frameworks, cloud migration, ERP’s and application ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen, financial savvy, and fluency in data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and optimize IT investments.
  • Industrial experience in a large, complex airport, airline, or transportation environment is preferred.
  • The ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
