Responsibilities & Expectations:
The Mechanic repairs various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.
- Read and understand work plans
- Disassemble electro-mechanical and mechanical equipment identifying parts, configuration and condition
- Digitally record measurements, pictures and comments
- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: test panels, surge testers, core-loss testes, ovens, cranes, forklift trucks, paint booth, and various handheld power and non-power tools
- Perform vibration analysis of equipment
- Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies, such as bearings, brushes, motor leads, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, etc.
- Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties
- Perform field service repairs when required
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper PPE
- Ensure that all completed work meets the company’s quality standards
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the shop manager
- Electric Motor Service Technician, Journeyperson Millwright or apprentice with at least 2 years experience and enrolled in an apprenticeship program, or 4 years equivalent work experience
- Overhead crane experience preferred
- High school diploma
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
