We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Produce Buyer to join our Procurement team in Aldergrove, BC.
Reporting to the General Manager/ Manager, Procurement, you will be responsible for procuring inventory from assigned suppliers, ensuring a consistent supply of goods at optimal cost while meeting targeted service levels. In this role, you will support merchandising strategies, maintain efficient warehouse operations, and contribute to high-quality inventory management through effective planning and supplier collaboration.
This role follows a standard Monday to Friday schedule, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It also includes a weekend rotation approximately every 8 weeks and may require occasional travel within Canada based on business needs.

$83,394.00 - $104,243.00
The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.

You will be responsible for:
- Optimizing service levels, seasonality, inventory turns, delivery schedules, and competitive cost of goods.
- Planning procurement of inventory while effectively utilizing allocated warehouse space.
- Partnering with the Merchandising team to support product levels and availability aligned with merchandising strategies.
- Communicating policies, procedures, and standards to key stakeholders, while addressing procurement and delivery concerns proactively.
- Maintaining high-quality warehouse inventory through accurate ordering practices.
- Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team on managing rejections and communicating with suppliers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Knowledge of automated purchasing systems such as A-series, and AMPS
- Familiarity with manual multipurpose Inventory and Purchasing systems such as Qantel.
- Experience using reporting tools, including Report Safe, Crystal Reports, and Qlik View.
- Understanding of CFIA rules and regulations.
- Background in retail, purchasing and/or merchandising.
- Able to identify cause-and-effect patterns, analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
- Organized, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to prioritize tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- A strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Proactive in taking initiative to identify and resolve issues.
