Finning Canada is seeking the best Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics - Field (Red Seal) to join our team in Williams Lake. Our Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required
  
  

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Minimum 3 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
• Dedication to safety
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems are considered assets
• Engine and/or Component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
• Previous Gas Engine and Power Generation experience would be considered an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  
  

Note:

• A condition of employment may be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
• Strong experience with Transmissions and Hydraulic Testing is required
• Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 Years)
• This is a position based out of our Williams Lake facility on a 5 x 2 shift
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
