The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing equipment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, purpose-driven organization while applying your technical expertise to maintain and improve production performance.
What You Will Do
- Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, gear boxes, and automated packaging systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine work procedures.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacks during installations or repairs.
- Fabricate or modify parts using machine tools such as lathes and grinders.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and collaborate with production teams to ensure operational continuity.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and confined space procedures.
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification with Red Seal endorsement (433A).
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
- 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Solid knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with heavy chain conveyors.
- Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, RCA, TPS, or RCM.
- Training in vibration analysis, rigging/hoisting, or predictive maintenance.
- Familiarity with PLCs and automated systems.
