About The Role
Reporting to the Regulatory Manager, the individual will be responsible for providing regulatory expertise to both internal and external customers. This role will be responsible for ensuring product compliance with Canadian and US Food regulations, Pet Food and Animal Feed regulations, Natural Health Product/ Dietary Supplement regulations and Personal Care regulations.

About The Role
Reporting to the Regulatory Manager, the individual will be responsible for providing regulatory expertise to both internal and external customers. This role will be responsible for ensuring product compliance with Canadian and US Food regulations, Pet Food and Animal Feed regulations, Natural Health Product/ Dietary Supplement regulations and Personal Care regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate technical packaging information for manufactured and distributed products including: ingredient declarations, nutrition information and allergen charts
- Provide regulatory support for Food and Beverage, Natural Health Products / Dietary Supplements, Companion Animal and Animal Feed Products both for Canadian and U.S. Markets
- Manage regulatory customer inquiries related to all Caldic products
- Maintain technical parameters for products in Optiva database
- Facilitate the completion of Customer-Own-Forms and Questionnaires
- Review labels issued for Caldic North American Sites
- Assist with regulatory requirements, application processes and audits related to product certifications (Kosher, Organic, Non GMO Project Verification, Halal etc
- Keep current on regulatory issues, especially related to Canada and U.S markets
- Investigate international labeling regulations for products destined for sale outside North America
- Work collaboratively with cross‐functional teams including R&D, QA and Sales
- Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in process improvement initiatives as needed
- Contribute to Regulatory projects/initiatives and cross functional projects as needed
- Write and/or review process guidance documents and/or SOP’s as needed
- Supervise the tasks of Regulatory Associates and/or Administrators, monitor employee performance and provide coaching and support as required
- Other tasks as assigned
- Science Degree or Diploma, (Preference for specialization in Food Science or Nutrition)
- 5+ years work experience in Regulatory with a focus on Canadian Food Regulations, US Food Regulations and/or Animal Feed or Pet Food Regulations
- Knowledge of Canadian Food and Drug Regulations, US Code of Federal Regulations, Canadian Feed Regulations and/or AAFCO requirements
- Proven ability to multi-task and work in fast pace customer centric environment
- Strong attention to detail and follow through skills
- Experience in a Customer Service role is an asset
- Superior organization and time management
- Team player with exceptional communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates initiative and accountability, excellent problem solving skills
