Cellview Imaging is a Toronto-based medical device start-up revolutionizing eye care with its ultra-widefield retinal imaging technology. Position: Operations Manager
Cellview Imaging seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead operational activities and support the commercial scaling of its imaging devices. Ideal candidates will have a background in medical devices, optics, electronics, or precision instrumentation, with experience in start-up environments and scaling operations.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the CEO of Cellview Imaging, with additional reporting to EssilorLuxottica (France). Collaborates closely with teams across engineering, regulatory, supply chain, quality, and global manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
Production Operations & Quality
- Manage end-to-end order fulfillment: planning, materials, assembly, testing, inventory, and logistics.
- Oversee supplier relationships and quality alignment.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, FDA, and Health Canada standards.
- Develop and enforce SOPs and maintain robust documentation.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, yield, breakage rates, and non-conformance.
- Drive continuous improvement in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica.
- Lead manufacturing strategy aligned with growth targets.
- Support product lifecycle and new product introduction (NPI).
- Identify technologies to enhance scalability and throughput.
- Contribute to mid- and long-term strategic planning with EssilorLuxottica.
- Build and manage a multidisciplinary production team.
- Promote lean thinking, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set KPIs and lead performance reviews and corrective actions.
- 10+ years in production management within medical devices or precision manufacturing.
- Full-cycle manufacturing experience: planning to shipment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA, GMP, and Health Canada compliance.
- Leadership in regulated environments and cross-functional teams.
- ERP/MRP proficiency (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Experience scaling manufacturing from design to commercial volumes.
- Start-up operational growth experience.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and DFM.
- Background in optical or ophthalmic devices.
