What You Will Do

  • Work safely, promote a safety culture and actively work to achieve goal zero, including the safe operation of a company provided vehicle on various roadways including residential, highway, rural, and oil field leases.
  • Promptly report every incident, near miss, or injury to leader as soon as feasibly possible.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to customer questions and communicate advanced principles of products and services.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to customers, offering innovative solutions to optimize performance and address operational challenges.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives that drive operational excellence, improve service delivery, and support the company’s overall strategic vision.
  • Collaborate closely with local sales teams to provide technical expertise and ensure effective implementation of technical solutions for customers
  • Execute account sales plans without supervisions from senior leaders.
  • Leverage on comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the entire marketplace of the District/Region to help develop and execute Sales Plans for multiple accounts, within or outside of customer base
  • Demonstrate versatility by calling on all levels of the customer organization
  • Work with sales representatives to influence, read and/or respond to RFPs and Specifications
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and new customers, by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies. Leverage external network to pursue business opportunities within assigned territory
  • Able to anticipate customer needs based on knowledge of customer processes and operations; recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned customer territory.
  • Proactively provide insights to senior leadership regarding P&L for customer
  • In alignment in Regional and District Managers, support execution of contractual obligations within customer contracts, including price adjustments, contract extensions, and tender responses, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels, from operations to senior management, fostering trust and long-term business partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal support teams, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Business Operations, Technical, and R&D, to deliver the best solutions for customers and align with corporate objectives.
  • Assist in administration aspects of product supply and customer interface, including receivables follow-up and inventory management, ensuring smooth operational execution.
  • Ability to negotiate price skillfully with less complex accounts independently
  • Proficient in most/all types of field work, including sampling and testing knowledge, and transfer that expertise to more Jr. representatives through active training and coaching
  • Serve as a solution architect in District, by exhibiting expert level knowledge in all product areas.
  • Stays aware of the competitive environment in district and do due diligence on competitors technologies and tactics.
  • Partner with Regional Marketing and RDE by discussing and providing, as necessary, information regarding customer trends, issues and requests related to products/applications/systems.
  • Attend or lead cultural meetings to continue focus on CSO and good account management practices.
  • Comply with basic organizational policies and regulations.
  • Travel is required within assigned sales territory to support business requirements and training opportunities.

Position Details

  • Candidate may reside within Western Canada, with access to air travel as this position is rotational.
  • No immigration sponsorship offered.
  • This is a safety sensitive position, and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical sales or field sales support experience is required.
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multitask

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 55 pounds chest high.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 5-10 years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
  • Previous Petrochemical experience
  • Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
  • Working knowledge of water treatment systems
  • History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
  • Prior experience that required excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience that required excellent organizational skills
  • Account leadership experience that includes calling on multilevel plant or facilities management to accomplish company goals
