NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The West of Scotland Innovation team, with core funding from the Scottish Government, is based in a hub on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital site but has a regional remit. Line management of key staff members is primarily by the Departments of Research, Development & Clinical Innovation and eHealth. The focus of the Innovation team is to project manage and deliver on a wide range of innovation projects using West of Scotland Health Boards as test beds, including key exemplar national projects. This national post will be embedded within the West of Scotland regional hub.
This postholder will work with the NHSGGC Innovation team to plan, manage and deliver agreed open collaboration projects across the West of Scotland and with our partner Innovation Hubs in NoS and EoS. The PM role will include scoping and delivery pf a diverse range of data driven and medical device projects within timescales and budget ensuring collaborative working across a broad range of stakeholders to support the delivery of the open collaboration objectives.
To be responsible for facilitating the development and commercialisation of innovations emerging from the open collaboration process, through effective project management, commercial due diligence, contract negotiation and identification of translational funding opportunities.
To form part of the West of Scotland Innovation team and provide cross cover as required to support key national innovation projects conducted in the West region.
