Talent Enablement Coach

Relay

Date: 1 day ago
City: Toronto, ON
Contract type: Full time
Our mission is to increase the success rate of small businesses. Traditional banking has been a growth limiter rather than a growth enabler for business owners, and we’re changing that. Relay is the all-in-one, collaborative money management platform. We’re building for employer SMBs and their finance function, internal and external, and are focused on delivering a human-centric customer experience. Ultimately, we help SMBs be ‘on the money'.

Relay is at a pivotal moment, doubling down on building the leadership strength and internal enablement that will carry us into our next chapter. To help us get there, we’re looking for a Talent Enablement Coach who can shape the way we learn, lead, and thrive together.

As part of our People team, this role blends program design with hands-on coaching. You’ll create and deliver enablement initiatives that equip leaders and individual contributors with the tools, skills, and confidence to succeed. At the same time, you’ll serve as a trusted coach and growth partner, working closely with people across the company to help them tackle challenges, accelerate their development, and build the best careers of their lives here at Relay.

If you’re passionate about driving learning, cultivating leadership, and unlocking potential in others, this is your chance to make a lasting impact at a company that’s scaling fast and investing deeply in its people.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and evolve scalable enablement programs that empower both people leaders and individual contributors to grow, lead, and perform at their best
  • Facilitate dynamic learning experiences—from workshops and trainings to feedback sessions and peer learning—that leave a lasting impact
  • Coach people leaders and individual contributors across functions, helping them navigate challenges, build accountability, and unlock new stages of growth
  • Partner with People and functional leaders to spot pivotal moments where enablement can drive clarity, confidence, and stronger performance
  • Leverage data and feedback to continuously refine and innovate on programs, ensuring learning is both impactful and relevant
  • Create practical resources and toolkits that provide people with just-in-time support when they need it most
  • Build trusted one-on-one coaching relationships with team members at every level, creating a safe space for growth, reflection, and honest conversations
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to leadership, surfacing insights and patterns from coaching to shape stronger team and company-wide practices

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in talent development, enablement, or coaching, with a proven track record of driving measurable impact
  • You are a certified coach (ICF ACC or above) or bring equivalent experience supporting individuals through coaching or mentorship
  • You are a builder at heart – able to design learning experiences from the ground up and tailor them to different audiences and learning styles
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment where you’re designing and iterating as you go
  • You are an excellent facilitator and communicator, skilled at creating safe, engaging spaces for dialogue, reflection, and growth
  • You know how to balance empathy with accountability – serving as both a trusted sounding board and a thoughtful challenger
  • You are data-informed and feedback-driven, using insights, metrics, and performance outcomes to guide your work
  • You are deeply collaborative, able to influence and build alignment across teams without formal authority
  • You have a strong command of adult learning principles, applying them to assess needs, design impactful programs, deliver effectively, and evaluate success

Bonus Points

  • You have built enablement programs in a scaling or hyper-growth environment
  • You know how to coach across disciplines, including engineering and technical teams
  • You hold certifications or experience with The Leadership Circle, Hogan, or EQ-i 2.0.
  • You understand how to drive connections in hybrid and remote environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Observable behavior change and skill development in people leaders and ICs
  • Fewer recurring performance gaps or misalignments
  • Higher internal mobility, retention, and engagement among coached employees
  • Improved retention rates and talent calibration outcomes
  • Positive feedback on enablement’s business impact

Why Relay Might Be the Perfect Fit For You

  • You push relentlessly for reinvention: You’re built to constantly ask, “How can this be better?” Change excites you and you drive it.
  • You crave autonomy: We trust our team with big challenges and the freedom to solve them. If you’re someone who takes initiative, is comfortable taking risks, and seeks input when needed, you’ll find the freedom here empowering.
  • You own your work: You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.
  • You treat comfort as a red flag: You seek growth. When things feel too comfortable, you lean into change. You’re excited about stepping into the unknown and navigating new terrain to create something better alongside your team.
  • You care about impact, not noise: You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition and you let your work speak for itself.
  • You’re energized by complexity and ambiguity: You enjoy tackling problems that don’t come with a playbook. You’re comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward.
  • You seek out feedback: We value directness, clarity, and respect. We believe honesty fuels great work and career growth. You see feedback as a tool for learning and improvement, and you know that open, honest dialogue is key to achieving the best results — together.
  • You’re here for more than a job: At Relay, everything we do is in service of our mission to help small businesses thrive. To drive impact and have purpose here, that mission must matter to you too.

We’re driving real change for small business owners, powered by truly remarkable people. We give you the baton–you run the Relay.
