Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, delivering, and promoting a variety of public programs, workshops, and events, with a focus on arts, culture, and heritage initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful event execution.
  • Lead and facilitate activities for event participants, contributing to a fun, engaging atmosphere.
  • Support program setup, takedown, and clean-up, ensuring all events run smoothly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of all participants.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from attendees to continuously improve programming.
  • Assist with preparing materials and resources for events and other cultural activities.

What You Bring

  • A proactive, resourceful approach to managing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse groups, from children to adults.
  • Experience facilitating and leading programs or events, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Enthusiasm for working hands-on in event preparation, including lifting and handling event decor or exhibition sets.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications

  • A two (2) year diploma in Recreation, Education, Arts, Tourism, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in art and culture programming or community events is a strong asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Standard First Aid and Level "C" CPR Certificate.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva is an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Flexible schedule and able to work, evenings and weekends.
