Now operating in our 6th year, The Red Accordion continues to deliver a high quality and unique dining experience in the West End. It's been an amazing 6 years and our concept of house made, farm to table dining in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere has been very well received.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team. Our ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the industry, as well as a strong passion for food and hospitality. We operate a farm to table, from scratch kitchen and we believe strongly in that. An ideal candidate will need a strong focus on food safety, organization and cleanliness. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, helping with menu creation, and team management while ensuring that our standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Duties

Lead and manage the kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Help develop and design innovative menus and features that reflect our concept of farm to table home cooking.

Ensure all food preparation and kitchen operations meets health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organization.

Help oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.

Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food presentation, and sanitation practices.

Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.

Monitor kitchen operations to ensure quality control and consistency in all dishes served.

Assist in the development of special events or promotions that enhance the restaurant's offerings.

Qualifications

Proven experience in kitchen management or in a similar leadership role within the food service or hospitality industry.

Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.

A positive attitude, it is critical that any future chef maintain good morale and a happy kitchen.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.

Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.

Strong communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and guests effectively.

A passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
