As a Product Designer at WeMod, you’ll partner closely with our Lead Product Designer and a talented, experienced team (including folks from MetaLab, Discord, and Airbnb) to craft intuitive, empowering experiences across an expanding product portfolio. Your designs will ensure players experience effortless interactions - so seamless they’ll forget we're even there… until they can’t imagine gaming without us.

Responsibilities

  • Own design problems end-to-end, from research and ideation through shipping and continuous iteration.
  • Design across our growing product suite, including enhanced mod discovery, interactive game guides, maps, and community-driven features.
  • Influence product strategy through design, collaborating closely with leadership to define our evolving platform.
  • Operate autonomously, taking ownership of projects while collaborating closely with your team.
  • Partner directly with skilled engineers, ensuring beautiful designs translate seamlessly into performance-sensitive gaming experiences.
  • Lead user research, translating insights into actionable product improvements.
  • Help evolve our design standards, contributing directly to our brand’s growth and the ongoing development of our design system.
  • Adapt and contribute broadly, flexibly moving between strategic sessions and hands-on execution to tackle whatever needs doing.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years of product design experience, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing thoughtful process and excellent visual/UI execution.
  • Comfort with autonomy, thriving with minimal direction and ambiguity.
  • Strong collaboration skills, particularly in partnership with engineering teams on technical feasibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, clearly presenting your design thinking to stakeholders, founders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Figma with a demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled design workflows, staying current with the latest tools and methodologies in modern product design.
  • Experience designing consumer products, ideally in gaming, entertainment, or community-focused apps.
  • Startup mindset, energized by fast-moving environments, shifting priorities, and high-impact opportunities.
  • Passion for gaming culture, understanding what makes gaming experiences truly great.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gaming product design or familiarity with gaming/modding communities.
  • Designing performance-sensitive or real-time experiences.
  • Experience working on consumer products at scale (complex user flows, diverse audiences, millions of users).
  • Cross-platform design experience (web, desktop, mobile).
  • Conducting effective user research in resource-conscious environments.
  • Designing community-driven features (social interactions, user-generated content, creator tools).
  • Experience in rapidly growing startups during significant expansion phases.
  • Contributing actively to a brand’s evolution and design system development.
  • Remote work experience, comfortable collaborating asynchronously.
