Overview
Working as a crucial bridge between business stakeholders and the Technology and PMO teams, the Business Analyst will focus on a portfolio of high-impact projects, process optimization, and system reviews. This comprehensive role offers a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally to define requirements and recommend solutions that support Vessi's strategic objectives. This role will require leveraging problem-solving abilities, data analysis, an attention to detail and documentation, while also serving as technical and operational support for omnichannel systems, including our Shopify POS platform.

Overview
Working as a crucial bridge between business stakeholders and the Technology and PMO teams, the Business Analyst will focus on a portfolio of high-impact projects, process optimization, and system reviews. This comprehensive role offers a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally to define requirements and recommend solutions that support Vessi's strategic objectives. This role will require leveraging problem-solving abilities, data analysis, an attention to detail and documentation, while also serving as technical and operational support for omnichannel systems, including our Shopify POS platform.
Responsibilities:
Requirement & Solution Lifecycle
- Elicit, validate, and analyze business and technical requirements from stakeholders, identifying problems and opportunities for improvement within our current processes or for new projects.
- Lead initiatives to establish and enhance business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions to increase efficiency.
- Perform and communicate quality assurance at various stages of development, including coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) and conducting post-implementation reviews.
- Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders, acting as a key liaison between business and the technology and PMO team.
- Lead and facilitate workshops, interviews, and observation sessions with users across various departments, including Finance, Distribution, Technology, Merchandising, Retail, and Customer Care.
- Support change management efforts by preparing training and stakeholder communications.
- Participate in project management by assisting in developing project plans, monitoring performance, coordinating resource allocation, and supporting timely project completion.
- Act as the hands-on administrator for our point-of-sale system (Shopify POS), including managing configurations, user accounts, app integrations, and liaising with internal and external vendors.
- Use data to identify system or process improvement opportunities within the business and evaluate whether initiatives meet success criteria and generate insights to help teams make data-driven decisions.
- Stay updated on process and technology advancements to modernize systems and identify opportunities for strategic growth and competitive advantage.
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- Experience with hands-on technical support, including system administration.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
- Ability to apply data and process analysis expertise to extract insights that inform project or system development.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, including gathering information, presenting it in written or visual formats, and communicating findings to managers and peers.
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, mapping processes, and producing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and user stories.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Visio, Google Sheets, and project management software (ClickUp, Jira etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership.
- Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions.
- Demonstrated experience with Shopify or another enterprise POS system is preferred.
- Familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Pro-active and self-motivated: ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Agile environment experience.
- Shopify and/or Shopify POS experience.
- Familiarity with systems integration and enterprise data flows.
- Experience with NetSuite and Celigo.
- Familiar with various project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc)
- Technical data skills, including SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI).
