The Role:

We are looking for an exceptional, innovative, and mission-driven Territory Sales Manager to help us continue to build a globally trusted and loved brand.

Reporting into the Canadian Sales Director, the ideal candidate will be an expert at building quality relationships, a sales aficionado, dedicated to driving growth for their customers and a passionate advocate for all things Open Farm. Experience in the pet industry and/or as a Territory Sales Manager is a plus!

Note: We're looking for a true road warrior. This role involves approximately 60% overnight travel, including trips across Canada and into the U.S. To be considered, you must have a valid driver's license and a current passport. This position will cover the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in Alberta or British Columbia

Primary Responsibilities (If this looks enticing, click "Apply"!)

  • Develop and manage sales strategies to achieve company goals, driving sales growth, brand development, and market leadership while overseeing daily sales operations, executing territory plans, and securing new accounts.
  • Regularly visit and phone prospective and existing customers for ongoing sales and support
  • Provide in-person and phone sales training to retailers on product features and benefits, while managing regional key accounts and chains through joint business planning, promotional execution, and new product introductions.
  • Develop, maintain and execute on territory sales target list
  • Liaise with the sales representatives of our distributors to establish and service accounts
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to distributor sales representatives while targeting A, B, and C accounts based on present and potential revenue.
  • Assist retailers with merchandising, purchasing and replenishment planning
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions
  • Help to coordinate and attend in-store promotional events
  • Resolve retailer issues and complaints in a timely manner

What YOU Bring to the Table:

  • Proven sales expertise with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets in territory or account-based roles
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, territory management, or business development
  • Hunter mentality — skilled at prospecting, opening new doors, and driving business growth
  • Relationship builder — able to connect quickly, earn trust, and nurture long-term partnerships
  • Data-driven seller — comfortable analyzing reports and using insights to inform strategic plans
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, accounts, and travel demands
  • Proactive and resilient — thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and competitive environment
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills with the confidence to influence buying decisions
  • Financially savvy — experienced in managing and tracking trade and T&E budgets
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and navigating sales reporting systems
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and passport and be comfortable with extensive travel

  • This is a remote opportunity; however, the ideal candidate will be based in Alberta or British Columbia, preferably in the Edmonton or Calgary area.
