About The Opportunity

LRO Staffing is partnering with a respected organization in Ottawa to recruit a Bilingual Manager, Events & Engagement for a full-time, permanent opportunity. This hybrid role offers a meaningful opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to play a central role in the design, planning, and delivery of major conferences, workshops, webinars, and recognition events. The successful candidate will lead the execution of high-impact programming, ensuring exceptional event experiences while supporting the team with strategic coordination, sponsorship engagement, and operational excellence.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design and implementation of the annual programming plan in collaboration with internal leadership
  • Oversee the full event lifecycle, including project planning, logistics, budget management, audience experience, and post-event evaluation
  • Design and manage the logistical and technical aspects of virtual, hybrid, and in-person events
  • Coordinate with speakers, suppliers, venues, and service providers; manage contracts and vendor relationships
  • Execute and deliver major events, including large-scale conferences, awards ceremonies, onboarding sessions, workshops, and learning webinars
  • Support development and implementation of the annual sponsorship strategy; cultivate and maintain sponsor and exhibitor relationships
  • Manage event platforms and technologies, including registration systems, webinar tools, and A/V requirements
  • Oversee event budgets, track revenue and registration trends, and provide regular updates to stakeholders
  • Collect, analyze, and report on engagement and satisfaction metrics; conduct evaluations and integrate lessons learned into future planning
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and seamless coordination

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Post-secondary education in event management, communications, business administration, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in end-to-end planning and delivery of events, including conferences and multi-format programming (virtual, hybrid, in-person)
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, suppliers, and sponsorships
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-team coordination
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, including occasional evenings and weekends for event delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in both English and French (advanced proficiency required)
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams), and event management systems (Pheedloop an asset)
  • Must be able to obtain enhanced security clearance and provide a clear criminal record check

About the Job

  • Location: Ottawa, ON
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid; 3 days onsite per week, with flexibility for remote work based on operational needs
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week; availability for occasional after-hours or weekend event delivery
  • Salary: $65,000 – $85,000
