Position: Landscape/green roof technician

Landscapers: Green T Design

Location: Calgary, Alberta

We are looking for high-energy individuals to join our team. Full-time positions preferred and part-time positions are available also.

Candidates should have an understanding of horticultural practices regarding planting and plant care including pruning, deadheading, plant ID and integrated pest management.

We seek individuals who share our commitment to sustainability and biophilic design, value community and wellbeing, embrace client collaboration and full-service excellence, and understand the unique challenges of creating and maintaining urban gardens—both at grade and on rooftops.

• 18 years old with grade 12 minimum
• Open, trustworthy, respectful motivated team player with strong work ethic
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour and demanding outdoor work including continuous movement, crouching, kneeling at times and manual lifting
• Holds a valid class 5 drivers license with clean driving record (alternative transportation possible)
• Owns a cell phone with data plan (we use WhatsApp for communicating)
• Will comply with all site and safety policies and procedures
• Can work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must provide own safety footwear
• Prior horticultural/ landscape education and/or experience a must
• Can work at heights and ascending/descending ladders and scaffolding (for those working on rooftops)
• Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to provide work summaries and record keeping
• Have first aid training
• ability to read drawings and prepare planting plans considered an asset
