Purpose:
Under the direction of the Manager, Sport Medicine, the Equipment Services Representative is responsible for providing equipment services to the varsity sport program and attending to the day-to-day responsibilities and operations in Equipment Services. The Equipment Services Representative provides frontline service and support to the varsity program. The role assists in the issue, retrieval, support, maintenance, repair and purchasing of sport equipment. The role monitors inventory, assists with equipment control, and provides laundry service as required needed.

Education:
High School diploma and some additional formal training in a related field such as operating basic athletic equipment repair machinery and tools. (e.g., commercial sewing machine, riveting machine, hand drill and other related equipment. Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.

Experience:
One years of related experience (e.g. in hockey and equipment fitting).

Skills:
Effective communication and customer service. Exercises initiative and sound judgement. Ability to resolve disputes/conflicts, work independently, set work priorities, follow both written and verbal instructions.Ability to train and monitor the work of others. Ability to operate basic equipment repair machinery (e.g., commercial sewing machine, riveting machine, hand drill, etc.) and tools to perform repairs to sport equipment (e.g., fitness equipment, stitching uniforms, riveting).Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials. Basic Office 365 skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Ability to work outdoors in different temperatures and weather conditions.

Please note: This position requires the successful candidate maintain a valid Driver's License and a produce a satisfactory Driver's Abstract. The successful candidate would have to provide proof of a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory Driver's Abstract upon being hired.Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a verification of degree(s), credentials(s), or equivalencies from accredited institutions and/or international equivalents at the time of interview. Please note: This position requires the candidate to produce a Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the University prior to commencement of employmen.

Hours of Work - Sept. 12pm-8pm Mon.–Fri. Oct. – Nov. 12pm-8pm Tue.– Sat. Dec. 10am-6pm Mon.–Fri. Jan. – Mar. 12pm-8pm Tue.- Sat. Apr. – Jul. 8am-4pm Mon.- Fri. Aug. 2pm-10pm Tue.-Sat. Summer: : Friday prior to Victoria Day to Labour Day Weekend: Fridays May – July & Sept 12pm – 730pm Fridays Aug, 2pm-930pm
