DESCRIPTION
Join Amazon's innovative Strategic Workforce Planning (WFP) team, where we build scalable solutions for workforce composition, organizational structure, and geographical footprint while aligning cost optimization with business priorities. Our technologies drive operational efficiency, cost management, and business growth across Amazon's operations.As an SDE II on the Workforce Planning team, you will design and develop scalable solutions that address Amazon's workforce planning challenges. You'll take ownership of key features and services, collaborating across teams to implement data-driven solutions for organizational planning and workforce optimization. You should be able to break down complex problems, mentor junior developers, and drive technical implementations in a fast-paced environment
Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Own and deliver end-to-end features within our workforce planning systems
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable solutions using modern cloud technologies
- Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Contribute and drive architectural decisions and best practices
- Mentor junior developers while driving technical excellence
We're looking for engineers with:
- Strong software design and development experience
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
