What you will do

  • Assisting and supporting the Site Supervisor to manage the construction of our homes to budgeted costs, quality, standards, and possession dates.
  • Ensuring alongside the Site Supervisor that relationships with trades and suppliers are well managed on site.
  • Maintain schedules, building quality, and ensuring site safety.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Takes actions to ensure that construction processes and systems are optimized in delivering a product that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations and business results.
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness and site safety at all times.
  • Balances priorities to drive business results and meet customer needs.
  • Visits homes under construction each day to confirm progress, completed work, and to discuss with trades, their work, and responsibilities alongside the Site Supervisor.
  • Responsible for job safety for staff, trade and supply partners and visiting customers or sales staff.
  • Hazard Assessments to be completed as outlined or as deemed required by site conditions.
  • This role requires the ability to sweep, shovel, clean, fire caulk, work at heights/ lift 75 lbs, use basic hand tools/power tools.

Working Relationships:

  • Effectively manages the trade and supplier relationships to coordinate timely, high quality partner activities.
  • Takes action to ensure home is ready for partners when scheduled and that appropriate supplies are available.
  • Reschedule homes proactively when necessary to avoid wasted trips from Trade Partners.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in management of on-site conflicts and is proactive in communicating issues or delays.
  • Ensures partners maintain clean and safe job sites at all times.
  • All post-possession deficiencies will be documented to be completed within 15 days after possession when possible.
  • Support Construction Manager in resolving major construction problems, scheduling issues and introduction of new products or specifications.
  • Supports company objectives through special projects or charitable initiatives from time-to-time.
  • Liaise with building inspectors, mortgage inspectors and OH&S inspectors as necessary.
  • After-hours management and facilitation of sites or its processes may be required.

Experience/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong construction knowledge required.
  • A valid driver’s license and abstract required
  • Knowledge of ANHW guidelines and building codes
  • Attention to detail and strong commitment to deadlines.
  • Solid customer service skills and ability to work with multiple personality types.
  • Ability to work outdoors throughout all seasons within the year.
  • Heavy lifting and manual labour will be required.
  • Must have a demonstrated positive and proactive approach and be prepared to be flexible in the work performed.
  • Framing experience would be an asset.
  • MCT Certification would be an asset.
  • Good work ethics with the ability to learn and take directions.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
