The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. Practice Details:
Estimated Yearly Remuneration: $350,000+ (Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) payment model).$35,798.40 Annual Bonus (Flat Fee) + MSP Premium 23.10%.
$20,000 Signing Bonus + Relocation funding $9,000 - $15,000.
REAP and RCME funding available.
Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician to join a well-established Family Medicine/walk-in clinic in Dawson Creek. The community has several clinics that work cooperatively.
This practice would provide clinic-based Primary Care plus at least one of the following:
- Long Term Care (LTC)
- Surgical Assist
- Oncology

- Maternity
- Primary OB
- Emergency (ED)

Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Services include:
- 24/7 emergency
- HAU
- Medical and surgical in-patient care

- Orthopedic Surgery
- General surgery
- Respiratory therapy
- Diabetic education
- Primary care
- Lab
- Medical imaging with CT
- Cancer care

Qualifications:
- Eligible for full or provisional family medicine license with CPSBC
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible - Mandatory. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Desired. Emergency - Desired. Obstetric - Desired.

Hours of work: Regular/Negotiable
On call requirements: MOCAP Level 1 for Emergency

23.10% Retention Premium.
$20,000 Signing Bonus.
$9,000 to $15,000 Relocation funding.

MOCAP (Medical On Call Availability Program) available on top of MSP billings. Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available. Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available. Relocation funding available: $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada; $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC. Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) funding is subject to change without notice.
