Full Time

Salary Range: $37.77 - $44.42 /hour

Our Security Supervisor deliver supervisory leadership, guiding a team of over 60 staff on 3 major sites, 5 buildings and in London and St. Thomas. The 60 plus staff are a mixture of guards and Security Control Centre operators. They supervise and schedule employees, consult on budget, assist in performance development, provide coaching for compliance, assist in development of processes to achieve operational goals, assist in development of education to ensure staff are engaged and working in consultation with our clinical partners to facilitate a safe and secure work environment. Reporting to the Manager and Director the Supervisors ensure there are clear guidelines and procedures to drive best practice and integrate security as a support to the clinical teams in an environment of recovery. Supervisors are required to work days, evenings and weekends as well as be on rotation for after-hours call coverage for the Security Services department.

Essential Qualifications

  • Two-year Diploma in Protection Security & Investigation, law or service-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a security field
  • Current license with the Ontario Ministry of Private Security and Investigative Services
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience in leading a service-based team
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members and other stakeholders
  • Exhibits strong self-awareness and reflective practice
  • Proven ability to engage and influence team members
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict constructively
  • Demonstrated ability to hold individuals and teams accountable
  • Experience in the development of strong, healthy teams
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to plan, organize and evaluate the day to day operations
  • Strong commitment to continuous quality/process improvement
  • Displays commitment to the organization's mission, vision and values
  • Proven ability to implement strategies to mitigate risk

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in mental health and an understanding of restorative care
  • Experience in supervisor role within a health care setting
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
